This policy governs the relationship between you (our awesome readers & members) and the La Salle College Old Boys Association New York/East Coast Chapter
(hereafter sometimes referred to as "NYLSCOBA", "us", or "our").

Offensive, Provocative, and Defamatory Content.

Since our goal is to provide the very best information and experience possible, we have a few requests and requirements about the content that's allowed on the site. You may not use our site or tools for personal attacks, defamation, harassment, spam, offensive content, inappropriately aggressive behavior, spam, or any illegal activities. Any material you post of works you create on the site (hereafter "Content") may not be illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, infringing of intellectual property rights, invasive of privacy or otherwise injurious or objectionable. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict access to a member's account, and to delete any Content posted through it. Without notice to you, we may, but have no obligation to, remove or edit Content and accounts containing Content that we determine in our sole discretion as unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property. Verbal, physical, written or other abuse (including threats of abuse or retribution) of any NYLSCOBA current and past officers, and members will result in immediate account termination.

Content Ownership

By posting or contributing Content, you are granting NYLSCOBA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use your content and hidden electronic data, including, without limitation, the rights to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your content, and/or to incorporate it into a collective work.

Off-Topic Comments

We cherish the sense of community, friendship, and humor frequently demonstrated in the off-topic comments. However, our goal is to provide highly relevant, professional content. To help the focus of the site, we may remove off-topic comments or comment sub-threads after three replies. We believe this is a solid compromise between our interest in providing highly relevant content and fostering a fun, friendly community.

Thumbs

You may not use thumbs for personal attacks, inappropriately aggressive behavior, or harassment. Without notice to you, we may, but have no obligation to remove or add thumbs. We may also remove accounts that engage in thumb abuse.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all content posted and activity that occurs under your account (even when content is posted by others who have access to your account). Please guard your account password diligently!

Misrepresentation

You shall not misrepresent yourself or take on the identity of someone else while using this service. Promotional Content

Promoting a business, product, or service is permitted, but only if the promotional content is valuable for NYLSCOBA members & relevant to the discussion. Whether promotional content is valuable is entirely at NYLSCOBA’s discretion. Please visibly disclose any commercial relationship you have with the promoted business, product or service. This includes, but is not limited to payment, reciprocal advertising agreements, conflicts of interest, or other non-consumer relationships.

NYLSCOBA 24 Hour Look-Back Period

All posts may be removed from the website upon the request of the author within the first twenty-four hours of posting. Comments will not be removed, except at NYLSCOBA’s sole discretion. After twenty-four hours, All posts will only be removed or edited at NYLSCOBA’s sole discretion.

NYLSCOBA Forum, Blog, Article & Content Disclaimer

This disclaimer applies to all content in the forum and blog sections of this website and much of the articles content as well.

NYLSCOBA provides information, advice & content based on our personal and professional experience. This content is, by-and-large, opinion, and although we do our best to limit false or misleading information, the practices of search engine optimization and search engine marketing are rarely an exact science and your results applying this information may vary.

The NYLSCOBA forum, blog and site is comprised of content from multiple authors or even user-submitted. NYLSCOBA does review all (non comment) content that appears on the blog and forum. However, we try to err on the side of posting "too much" rather than "too little" material, and thus, you may find content that is heavily opinionated or even dead wrong at times.
